This splendid damp day

s i begin this conversation, the spring day is frigid and damp. We have been recently blessed with a sudden abundance of rain, in spite of the earlier dire prophesies of drought and fire danger. And yes, we shall still have those,and as they arrive we will deal with them appropriately and well. And right now, i am out dancing in the rain.

Sunday, rainy Sunday

It is not torrential but it is substantial, and such a pleasure it is to hear it thrumming on the roof of my studio, a soothing counterpoint to the racuous entreaties of the parrots to engage me....I take them small snackies, murmering kindnesses to them even as i wish i had the sound of a warm and welcoming voice, too. Through the rain streaked window, i see the horses huddled, benign, in their shelter and i feel with great vividty the velvet whiskered nuzzling  as they sought the treats this frigid morning, their hay at the ready, but it is this intimate moment of sharing they honor with bright shiny eyes.

 My eyes are bright , too , on the future i am calling to myself even as i gather the ravelled threads of these 12 last years, done now, excepting the necessary disengagement. Threads to be snipped and tied.... tapestry...

 this new life calls to me even as i hold fast to the things which do endure and further.

 And there are so many of those to be created, discovered, and held high as a lamp on the path of the daily future..this moment in time. 

this new year is still shiny and bright and limitless. 

I feel the New Sky in my heart and spirit, and this will be such a splendid new journey

It is a bright and gorgeous morn, no coastal fog...i shall be going to and enjoyable outing , in the mountains not-that- high above the Monterey bay here. I will walk in the coastal redwoods and dine on grilled meats and vegetables.. a rare treat and one well enjoyed, all known negative facters considered and blessed with a smile.
